ARK News… President Masoud Barzani and British Ambassador to Baghdad Stephen Hickey discussed the political and security problems between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government.

This came on Wednesday when President Barzani received Hickey and the accompanying delegation in Erbil.

In the meeting, which was attended by the British Consul General in Erbil, James Sorenton, the challenges facing the political process, the future of Iraq, and the early Iraqi elections were discussed.

They also discussed the security and political differences between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government, and the relations between Erbil and Baghdad.

On the other hand, President Barzani and Hickey discussed the effects of international and regional politics on the future of Iraq and ways to establish stability in Iraq. They also discussed military coordination between the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi forces and the steps that have been achieved in the process of unifying and restructuring the Ministry of Peshmerga.

The two sides stressed the importance of developing and strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region and the United Kingdom.
