Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Coalition Forces offers condolences to President Barzani on the martyrdom of the Peshmerga

ARK News… President Masoud Barzani, on June 16, 2021, in Salahuddin, received the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the International Coalition Forces in Iraq and Syria, General Bill Richard, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the International Coalition Forces in Iraq and Syria offered his condolences and sympathy to President Barzani for the martyrdom of a group of Peshmerga in Matin mountain at the hands of PKK militants and wished a speedy recovery for the wounded.

The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the International Coalition Forces in Iraq and Syria also reviewed the field conditions and the efforts of the International Coalition to confront ISIS terrorists in Iraq and Syria.

In another aspect of the meeting, the two sides described the step of forming coordination centers between the Peshmerga forces of Kurdistan and the Iraqi forces to protect the areas between them from the dangers and threats of terrorists, and the trend towards forming joint forces between the two sides as (the task and the fruitful).

As for the efforts made to unify the Peshmerga forces and implement the necessary reforms in the Ministry of Peshmerga, they were another focus in the meeting in which the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the International Coalition Forces in Iraq and Syria announced the great interest of the coalition countries in unifying the Peshmerga forces.
