ARK News… The Human Rights Organization in Afrin said in its report, on May 31, 2021, that a sick elderly woman appealed to the free world, humanitarian and human rights organizations, and every responsible individual in view of the inhuman crimes committed by the advocates of freedom and dignity, “the Free Syrian National Army,” against them, from assault, theft, robbery, looting and seizure of their property.

The organization said that members of the Liwaa Al-Waqqas militia, who control a number of villages of Jenderes and Shiye towns, including the village of Hekije, on Tuesday, 25/05/2021, severely beat and tortured a number of indigenous Kurdish shepherds, and tortured them due to a dispute with the settler shepherds about preventing the cattle from grazing amid olive fields and vineyards.

The organization added that the members of the Liwaa Al-Waqqas militia controlling each of the following villages (Hekije - Marwaniya Tahtani - Marwaniya Foqaani - Sanare - Anqale) imposed a royalty of 400 Syrian pounds ≈ 1 Turkish lira for each carton of grape leaves, and imposing sum of 4000 Syrian pounds, or 1 US dollar, for each container of olive oil, when transporting outside the village, “Al-Hal Market in Afrin City.” They also imposed a financial sum of 50 Turkish pounds annually on each head of cattle.

The organization concluded its report that the members of the Liwaa Al-Waqqas militia, who control the previously mentioned villages, prevent the people from fetching drinking water and sanitation from the wells they own using their agricultural tractors.
