Prime Minister of Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, welcomed a delegation from the US-led Coalition in Erbil on Thursday, discussing the Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) security reforms.

During their meeting, PM Barzani and General Richard Bell, the Deputy Commanding General of the Coalition Forces in Iraq and Syria, who led the delegation, exchanged views on continued support for the Peshmerga fighters to confront the Islamic State (IS).

Barzani said in a statement on Facebook that they also discussed the joint coordination centers between Erbil and Baghdad in the disputed areas.

"I emphasized the importance of eliminating sources of all terrorist threats and thanked the Coalition’s assistance," he added.

Barzani with the delegation also highlighted the approval of draft legislation for the Criminal Court for Islamic State Crimes by the Council of Ministers and more steps towards accountability and compensation.

On 28 April, this year, the Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) Council of Minister approved a bill on the prosecution of Islamic State suspects in the Kurdistan Region, as part of the ninth cabinet's reform agenda.
