ARK News... Today, Monday, May 24, 2021, marks the ninth anniversary of the departure of Dr. Abdulrahman Alouji.

A brief about his life:

Dr. Abdul Rahman Alouji was born in 1950 in Amouda city, he studied elementary and middle school there, then moved to the city of Hasaka, where he grew up in a house characterized by knowledge. His father was a jurist and a well-known patriot and a poet at the beginning. He completed his academic studies at a university in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature and graduated in 1972, completed postgraduate studies, and obtained a master’s degree in 1988, after which he obtained an honorary doctorate degree from Saint Teresa University in Armenia. He also attended two doctoral theses in literature and rhetoric.

I joined the party’s ranks during a critical period in 1968 when the activity centered around the beginning of the party formation approach and the consolidation of Barzani’s eternal approach, he was included in party bodies until he was unanimously elected General Secretary of the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria at the tenth conference in 2007, he was re-elected at the eleventh party congress in 2011 and remained general secretary until his departure.

Dr. Abdul Rahman Alouji was arrested several times during his struggle, the last of which was about four months in 2004 in the notorious Palestine Branch. His position was supportive of the Syrian Dignity Revolution since the beginning of the revolution. He organized and took part in the first demonstration in the city of Hasaka, accompanied by his friend, who was detained in the prisons of the Syrian regime, Hussein Iso, and notables from various social strata in the city of Hasaka.

Abdul Rahman Alouji departed due to an incurable disease in Erbil, the capital of Kurdistan, where he was being treated at Rizgari Hospital, and he was transferred to the city of Hasaka, and his immaculate body was spread in a mass funeral, where all the sects participated in it, and he was buried in final resting place on Friday morning, May 25, 2012, in the morning at a mass funeral, in which all the sects in Hasaka, the Kurdish parties, and national events participated.
