ARK News… The General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council issued a statement regarding the abduction of Abdulghaffar Muhammad, a member of the Area Council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, by the security services of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and demanded the immediate release of Mr. Abdulghaffar and all detainees of opinion in YDD prisons, the following is the text of the statement:

Abdulghaffar Muhammad, a member of the Area Council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria and a member of the local council of the martyr Nasraddin Birhak, was kidnapped in Chil Agha of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, at 8 p.m. on Friday 21/05/2021, by the security services of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), where, he and his wife were traveling in his private car on the Rimailan-Qamishlo road in the opposite location of the village of Shabak, and they drove him with his car to an unknown destination by two vehicles with a mask and masked elements, leaving his wife there on the highway, and when the people gathered around them, they shot in the air and headed towards the town of Chil Agha Rimailan.

It is noteworthy that Mr. Muhammad was kidnapped on March 28-2021, and they threatened him if he continued his struggle in the party and within the council.

We in the Kurdish National Council in Syria condemn and denounce these acts of intimidation that are inconsistent with all human values and norms. Rather, they are the object of discontent and disgust for all those whose national and human values are treasured, and they fall within the framework of practices that dissipate the appropriate climate for Kurdish negotiations that they do not want to continue clearly and obvious.

We call for the immediate release of Mr. Abdulghaffar and all those who have been detained in the prisons of the PYD, and to desist from these intimidating practices that only serve the enemies of our people and their cause.
