ARK News... The Local Council in the Kurdish region of Afrin, on April 17, 2021, approved work on a village that includes 300 homes for Arab settles families who have been resettled in Afrin.

The official page of the council stated: Officials from the council visited the construction site of the Kuwait Al-Rahma village to see the progress of work there.

The council added: The village is being constructed by the Sham Al-Khair Humanitarian Association, with the aim of resettling Arab settlers' families in Afrin.

The village includes 300 houses and is located in the Mahmuodiya neighborhood in the city center of Afrin. Activists warn of demographic change in the region, especially after the invasion of Turkey and the armed factions on March 18, 2021, during a military operation that lasted for 58 days.

More than 300,000 Kurdish civilians were displaced during the operation, most of them living as prisoners in camps in the countryside of Aleppo called Shahba, which is under the control of the PYD militants, while more than half a million Arab settlers families from various Syrian governorates have been settled.

Kurdish activists and politicians confirm that the processes of demographic change will stop with the return of the displaced Kurds from the Shahba area.
