ARK News… The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the Syrian regime continues misinformation and keeping the real number of deaths and infection cases with coronavirus secret, as regime authorities announce about only tens of Covid-19 infections and deaths daily. However, the situation on the ground is completely different, as the virus is spreading widely in its third peak throughout areas under the control of the Syrian regime, while hospitals have reached their full operational capacity which portends a disaster, while the regime takes no action.

As SORH continues monitoring and tracking the escalating number of coronavirus cases and deaths in regime-held areas, reliable medical sources in regime-controlled areas have confirmed that nearly 94,400 new Covid-19 cases have been detected in the past few days, while 820 other cases died of the virus in the same period.

Meanwhile, regime authorities continue misinformation and keeping the real number of deaths and infection cases with coronavirus secret. Moreover, a large number of deaths are claimed to be caused by pneumonia, despite the broad outbreak of the virus throughout Syria. Furthermore, no information has been reported about the vaccine delivered to Syria and the vaccination mechanism.

According to SOHR latest statistics, based on reports obtained from reliable medical sources on the ground in regime-controlled areas, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has approximated 762,600, of whom 477,000 recovered, and 22,004 died.

It is worth noting that the regime's Ministry of Health’s official statistics announced 20,008 infections, of whom 1,360 people died and 13,780 recovered.

It is also worth noting that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented the death of 172 doctors in the Syrian regime-held areas due to coronavirus in 2020, and they were documented by names.
