The threat of hunger and the spread of diseases is threatening to Syrian Kurdistan
ARK News… After the Syrian regime stopped its support for the bakeries with flour, crossings were closed between it and QSD, and because of that, the crisis of losing bread, flour, and medicine is sweeping all the cities and towns of Syrian Kurdistan.
A private source told ARK News that after the PYD put its hand on the mills and grain stores in the Qamishlo city, and before that it was prohibited to buy wheat from farmers for itself and brokers, to sell it at double the prices to the Syrian regime to secure bread and flour for the areas affiliated with the PYD, the Syrian regime cut off supplies to the bakeries, and the result was disastrous for the citizens, as the crisis of loss of bread sweeps all regions of Syrian Kurdistan.
The private source added: The PYD sells wheat to the Syrian regime, at double prices, and asks it to provide flour for all bakeries in the cities and towns of Syrian Kurdistan, and this is what the Syrian regime refused, and provided flour and bread for its militants, and the neighborhoods that are under its control only.
The source added: Because of the PYD's policies that aim for commercial profit for the benefit of people within the administration, the Syrian regime recently closed the crossings at Al-Tayiha, Raqqa, and Manbij, and as a result, medicine was lost in Syrian Kurdistan, as 80% of the main medicines are missing.
The private source confirmed: The bag of flour at the present time has kept more than (65) thousand Syrian pounds, and because of the high price of flour, many private bakeries have stopped their work.
According to what analysts say: If the situation continues in this way, then during the coming period, the threat of hunger and the spread of diseases will loom in Syrian Kurdistan.
