The political body of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces decided in its regular meeting on 3o/03/2021 to consider the Assyrian Babylonian New Year "Akito" as a Syrian national holiday and to consider April 1 of each year as an official holiday.

The Political Commission, in its regular meeting held on 30/03/2021, and based on the provisions of the Basic Law of the National Coalition for the Forces of the Syrian Revolution and Opposition, approved on 30/11/2012 and all its amendments, the following was decided:
Article 1: The Babylonian Assyrian New Year "Akito" is considered a Syrian national holiday.
Article 2: The first of April of each year is considered an official holiday.
