ARK News… The Kremlin said in a statement that the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, and the Prime Minister of the Israeli, Benjamin Netanyahu, discussed Monday developments in the situation in Syria, and cooperation in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Kremlin reported that Putin and Netanyahu held telephone conversations, in which they discussed "urgent issues of Russian-Israeli relations in various fields." The Kremlin added that during the call, "they discussed regional issues, focusing on some aspects of developments in the situation in Syria."

For his part, Netanyahu said in a tweet on his Twitter account: “I spoke on the phone with the Russian president and congratulated him and the citizens of Russia” on the new year, and continued: “I spoke with him (Putin) about the situation in Syria, developments in the region, and the required measures to increase stability in it".

And the military raids carried out by the Israeli army against targets it says belong to Iran in Syria have increased in recent times, and Israel fears what it describes as the stationing of Iran and the military forces loyal to it near the Syrian Golan Heights.

Last Thursday, six militants affiliated with the Iranian militias were killed in a missile attack believed to have been carried out by Israeli forces at dawn on Friday at sites in the countryside of Hama, and the Syrian regime announced, early Friday, that the Masyaf area, southwest of Hama governorate, had been exposed to Israeli raids.
