ARK News: A Human Rights Organization working to document violations in the Kurdish region of Afrin reported on its main page of Facebook, on Wednesday, 21.10.2020, that since the entry of the Turkish forces with armed groups and factions into Afrin, March 2018, The so-called Abdul Aziz Muhammad Othman, nicknamed Abu Othman, was summoned from al-Bab area to the Afrin region with the aim of theft, looting, robbery, armed robbery and seizing the property of the forcibly displaced and Kurdish citizens who were in their villages in coordination with the leaders of the Sultan Murad faction who controlled most of the villages of Bulbul town (Kotana - Upila - Ashuone - Bibaka - Berkashe - Kella - Qasha - Karre - Quota) where they installed him as a mufti for the sake of inheritance.

The Organization added that he has assumed the status of Grand Mufti for himself, dividing the property among the heirs as he wishes, but the share of those present in their homes is always the lowest, but for the displaced, their shares belong to the mufti himself who is as the settler and the guarantor merchant. The Grand Mufti does not accept the legal agencies owned by the people, nor the licenses issued by the local council in the Bulbul area, which cost the families much money and does not take into account the conditions of the people even if they are orphans and widows.

The organization concluded that this thief is concerned with seizing property and stealing their crops such as olives, grape leaves, walnuts, almonds, and sumac, and despite complaints and protests against him before the civil and military police and members of the local council, there are no ears to listen of what the people suffer from the tyranny of the thief mufti, who considers the Kurds' properties as spoils.
