Russian-Chinese veto on the transfer of humanitarian aid to Syria
ARK News.. Russia and China used their veto power during the UN Security Council vote on a draft resolution to transfer humanitarian aid to Syria across its borders with Turkey.
The other 13 members voted alongside the draft resolution during the session, on Tuesday.
The draft resolution submitted to the UN Security Council provided for an extension of 6 months for approval to transfer aid through the crossings on the Syrian-Turkish border.
The existing approval is expected to expire next Friday, and therefore there is still time for Council members to present a new draft.
Diplomatic sources indicated to "Reuters" that Russia and China agree to keep only one crossing on the Syrian-Turkish border.
