ARK News.. The "Response Coordinators Team - Syria" said on Monday that 26.06 percent of those displaced as a result of the military campaign of the Syrian regime forces last year returned to their towns and villages in Idlib and Aleppo provinces, in northern Syria.

In a statement, the "team" stated that 271,356 displaced people returned after the ceasefire agreement that started on March 6, 2020.

Turkish Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian Vladimir Putin reached an agreement stipulating a ceasefire in Idlib governorate, which came into effect on Friday 6 March 2020.

The Team indicated that there is a deficiency in securing the needs of the returnees in several areas (food security and livelihoods 76%, the water and sanitation sector 78%, the health and nutrition sector 89%, the non-food sector 84%, the education sector 81%, the protection sector 81%) .

The statement called on international organizations to increase the volume of international aid due to the approaching end of international resolution 2504/2020, which aims to introduce humanitarian aid to Syria across the border, noting that after 23 days, the decision issued on January 10, 2020 ends.

The statement called on international parties to work to extend the decision, warning of "catastrophic" consequences if the extension fails.
