COVID-19: KRG Extends Traffic Ban Between Provinces until May 18
ARK News.. The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) on Sunday decided to extend the anti-coronavirus traffic ban between provinces until May 18.
Movements of vehicles will not be allowed between Erbil, Sulaimaniya, Duhok, and Halabja provinces without affecting the vehicles belonging to the UN and other international organizations, a statement by the interior ministry said.
However, citizens will be allowed to return from other provinces of Iraq but they will be put in quarantine for two weeks, the statement added.
This comes while the KRG has relaxed the anti-coronavirus protective measures inside major cities and towns as the autonomous region is apparently approaching its success in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
