British website "Middle East International" reported in its report on Wednesday that Makhlouf is still in Syria despite his disagreement with the regime's president, Bashar Al-Assad.

The report, which was translated by Brokar Press, quoted a familiar source with the regime's internal politics, saying that the appearance of Makhlouf with two consecutive video recordings (between them less than a week) indicates that the issue is more complicated than the cycle of fighting inside the regime's narrow link.
