Two under torture... ARK documents the names of seven martyrs of the March 2004 uprising in Afrin
ARK News: On the sixteenth of 2004 the spark of the March 12 revolution - which started in the Kurdish city of Qamishlo - began in the city of Afrin and the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya, the Kurds in Aleppo, and Afrin provided seven of their sons as martyrs in Afrin and Aleppo.
On the anniversary of the Halabja massacre, thousands of the people of Afrin gathered to stand for a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs of the massacre, and then it turned into a massive popular uprising that condemned the regime's practices in killing innocent people in Qamishlo and other Kurdish cities, the response was that the regime’s treacherous bullets and tear gas were directed to break up the demonstration and suppress the uprising, and six of Afrin’s sons were martyred in that uprising.
The names of the martyrs of Afrin in the 2004 uprising:
1- Hussein Hamo Na`so the name of the mother Fadhila (the mother is from the Hussein Haj Nasser family) was martyred under torture in Afrin. His place of residence is in Afrin, the Zidiya neighborhood who was secretly buried.
2- Givara Hamid Hassan, born in 1985, the mother’s name, Habiba, from the village of Hassan Dera of Shara town, was martyred in front of the Political Security branch, the beginning of the uprising in Afrin. His place of residence is Afrin, Ashrafiya neighborhood.
3- Kamal from the Qadim family (the tailor Qadim) born in 1990 from the village of Bene in Sherawa area, martyred before the Political Security branch, the beginning of the uprising. His place of residence is Afrin, Rajo Road, the secondary street of Al-Rifiya School, opposite of Faisal Qaddour old School.
4- Ibrahim Muhammad Sabri 1977 from Badino village of the Mabata township who was martyred in Aleppo. He was a groom for forty days and was buried in Badino village, and his body was later transferred by the PYD to the Matina cemetery without the family’s consent. His residence is in Aleppo Ashrafiya neighborhood.
5- Farida Ahmad, mother’s name is Zaynab was martyred in Aleppo on the 16th of the month, and she was buried in the village of Miske of Jenderes township, whose place of residence is Aleppo, Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood.
6- Ari Fawzi Wilo, mother’s name is Zakia from the village of Qurt Qulaq of Shara township, whose place of residence is Aleppo.
7- Bakir Hanan Diko from Qassem village of Rajo township. How he was martyred: Under torture after the uprising on 15-9-2004. The charge: Speaking against the Syrian regime.
