Decisions issued due to the extension of the curfew in Erbil and Sulaimaniyah
ARK News: The Ministry of Interior in the Kurdistan Region decided to extend the validity of the curfew in the cities of Erbil and Sulaimaniyah for an additional three days.
A statement issued by the Ministry included several decisions, namely:
First: The extension of the curfew period in the cities of Erbil and Sulaimaniyah for a period of 72 hours, starting at 12:00 on the night of 15-16 March 2020.
Second: Stopping movement between the districts in the governorates of Erbil and Sulaimaniyah for a period of 72 hours, as of 12:00 on the night of 16-17 March 2020.
Third: Empowering the governorates of Erbil and Sulaimaniyah the authority to organize ways to secure the needs of citizens during this period in a manner that does not prejudice the application of the first paragraph.
Fourth: The last date for the return of the citizens of the Kurdistan Region is at 12:00 on the night of March 16-17, 2020. After this date, all border crossings and entrances will be closed to expatriates and remain open to commercial traffic in the outlets of Parviz Khan, Haji Imran and Ibrahim Khalil and Pashmakh, according to the conditions previously announced.
Fifth: We thank the citizens of the Kurdistan Region for their commitment to government instructions for the prevention of corona virus and we invite them to stay in their homes.
Sixth: This decision is implemented from the date of its issuance.
