Members of the "National Defense" militia promote drugs in Hama

ARK News.. Activists in the city of Hama reported that volunteers in the ranks of the “National Defense” militia fighting alongside the regime forces are promoting drugs in the city.

The “activists” explained that the elements are promoting drugs in the university and public places, especially the “Umm Al-Hassan” park, which is known for the great spread of “national defense” elements, pointing out that in many cases, elements in the park are seen using narcotic pills and hashish without any supervision by the government System or hold them accountable.

The activists added that the public places in the city, especially the parks, have become a monopoly on the forces of the regime forces and the militias supporting them, such as the castle, Um Al Hassan Park, and other places that are the only outlet for the people in light of the difficult living conditions and the security grip in the city.

Some activists pointed out that from time to time the police directorate in Hama of the regime government announced that it had arrested some drug dealers or users, but merchants and influential people do not approach them because of their strong relations with officers in most of the security branches in the city.

It is worth noting that the city of Qusayr and its environs in the western countryside of Homs is considered a safe haven for drug cultivation and trade, given the complete control of the “Lebanese Hezbollah” since 2013, since there is no authority for the Assad regime over Qusayr and its environs and drugs are introduced into the region, from there, drugs are brought into the central region, such as Homs and Hama, according to our correspondent.
