Kurdistan Parliament Suspends Sessions in Fear of Coronavirus Outbreak

ARK News.. Kurdistan Region’s Parliament suspends sessions as part of the precautionary measures against the spread of coronavirus (COVIT-19), said secretary of the parliament on Wednesday.

Speaking to BasNews, Mona Qahwachi said all the sessions will be canceled until after Nawroz (the Kurdish new year on 21 March).

According to Qahwachi, a meeting between the parliamentary committees will officially approve the decision today.

For any extraordinary topics, the parliament can convene MPs during this break, the secretary added, noting that the parliament will also halt receiving official delegations unless it is necessary.
