Erdogan demands Merkel to share the burden of refugees fairly
ARK News.. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Monday, demanded to German Chancellor Angela Merkel for a fair sharing of responsibility and burdens in relation to refugees.
In a statement, the Turkish presidency said that Erdogan discussed with Merkel, in a telephone call, bilateral relations and regional issues, the top of which is Idlib and the refugees, stressing the need to observe international obligations regarding the burden of refugees.
Merkel said on Monday that the European Union and Turkey should resume talks on their agreement on refugees, and that Germany is ready to support Turkey on a bilateral level, after thousands of refugees poured into the borders with Greece through Turkey, which it announced a few days ago that it would not prevent them from reaching Europe.
