ARK News.. On Tuesday, the U.S. armored vehicles present in northeastern Syria tracked a Russian military patrol on the M4 highway and chased them until the junction of Tal Baydar village, north of Hasakah.

North-Press reporter indicated that four U.S. armored vehicles tracked a Russian patrol at the junction of the village of Hattin, between the town of Amouda and the city of Hasakah to prevent them from passing through the M4 highway.

The two U.S. armored vehicles chased the Russian patrol until the junction of the village of Tal Baydar, which connects the town of Derbasiya with Hasakah, while the rest of the U.S. armored vehicles stationed at the junction of Hattin.

Recently, the U.S. armored vehicles have intercepted the Russian military patrols, as last Saturday, the U.S. armored vehicles prevented a Russian patrol, which was coming from the town of Amouda from passing through the M4 highway, despite stopping at one of the checkpoints for about 8 hours.

A Russian patrol consisting of 4 armored vehicles arrived at the junction of the village of Hattin on the M4 highway, coming from Amouda, to stop about 200m from the checkpoint, after they saw the U.S. armored vehicles while waiting for them.

The Russian armored vehicles avoided crossing the mentioned checkpoint, or bypassing the U.S. armored vehicles, which were deployed in the area, on Hasakah road, branching from the highway to the south.

For about 3 months, the U.S. patrols have been deployed at the junctions of the M4 highway and the road linking Qamishlo with Derik, to cut the road before the Russian patrols, whether passing from the highway or heading towards the oil areas in east of Qamishlo.

The Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said in an interview with Novosti last January, that the U.S. troops will remain in their positions in northeastern Syria, and stressed on their eagerness to keep in touch with their Russian counterparts to avoid clashes between the two sides.

Hoffman said: "They have spoken clearly to other countries and forces present in the region about where their forces are deployed, and they are using conflict prevention mechanisms to prevent any misunderstanding or accidental clash.”
