ARK News: A delegation of the Kurdish National Council in Syria met on Wednesday 02/20/2020 in Ankara with Mr. Mawuloud Jawish Oglu, Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Minister started the meeting by presenting his country's supportive stance to the Syrian people to reach security and stability and find the desired political solution in accordance with the international legitimacy resolutions, and expressed their support for all components of the Syrian people without discrimination, as he pointed out the importance of the National Council as a legitimate representative of the Kurdish people and its role in the political process and expressed their support for the rights of the Kurds and their constitutional guarantee, and he touched on what the people are exposed to in the areas of the presence of their forces in Afrin, Sari Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Gire Spi (Tal Abyad) at the hands of some factions and armed groups, and expressed their rejection of these practices and the need to hold perpetrators accountable in addition to their rejection of any demographic change and the need for the displaced to return to their homes safely.
In its turn, the Council delegation presented its vision of the political solution in the country and the necessity to activate the political process and implement a constitution that matches the aspirations of the Syrians and secures the national rights of the Kurds and all components, the delegation called on Turkey to help in implementing the council’s agreement with the coalition regarding stopping the violations against the people of Afrin, Sari Kaniye (Ras Al-Ain) and Gire Spi (Tal Abyad) and work to facilitate the safe return of the displaced people to their homes, and stressed the council’s rejection of any demographic change there.
The delegation also appreciated Turkey's assistance to millions of Syrian immigrants, their shelter, and its support for the Syrian opposition, and called for more communication and understanding that serves the Syrian people in general and the Kurdish people to overcome their ordeal and live in peace and security.
