Bashar Amin: The significance of Kurdish representation in the Constitutional Committee is in performance
ARK News: A Syrian Kurdish leader confirmed on Tuesday that the representation of the Kurdish people in the Syrian Constitutional Committee is not proportional to the proportion of the total Syrian people, pointing out that international bodies confirm their support for the rights of all components, including the Kurdish people.
Bashar Amin, a member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, said: In the last meetings of the delegation of the Council, those bodies confirmed their support and backing for the rights of all components, including the Kurdish people, and that the new constitution provides for those rights.
He added that the Council is still standing through the national opposition with the international community represented by the United Nations in support of the political solution to the Syrian crisis and in accordance with the Geneva 1 reference and international resolutions, especially resolution 2254 and related resolutions.
Regarding the position of the regime and the opposition on the rights of the Kurdish people and other components, Amin said: I do not believe neither the opposition nor the regime stands against the rights of the Kurdish people and other components, but the acceptance of these rights by both sides may not rise to the aspirations of the Kurdish people and their legitimate right, as well as other components.
The Kurdish leader pointed out, that "the representation of the Kurdish people in the Constitutional Committee is not proportional to the proportion of the total Syrian people," he said: “The significance remains in performance, and the extent of the Council's contribution to additional efforts in the international corridors and vestibules, and then the use of legal and cultural elites in this regard in order to compensate for the lack of representation”.
