Dr. Bashar to ARK: "We reject PKK,s presence in East Euphrates"
ARK News: A member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria and the vice president of the Syrian Opposition Coalition said that they reject any presence of the Kurdistan Workers' Party PKK in areas that have become known east of the Euphrates in Syrian Kurdistan.
In a special statement made on Saturday 7 September 2019 to the ARK Media Foundation about the safe area to be established on the Turkish border with Syrian Kurdistan from Gire Spi to Derik, Abdul Hakim Bashar, a member of the political bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria and vice president of the Syrian opposition coalition said: "We reject any presence of PKK forces in the eastern Euphrates.
The first phase of the US-Turkish agreement on the safe area came into force, with SDF withdrawing from Gire Spi and Sari Kaniye, that is the formation of local forces to replace the SDF and work to establish stability and control security in the region.
The Chief of the US General Staff Joseph Danford said that America needs 50-60 thousand fighters from local forces to control security in northern Syria, according to him.
Despite the signing of an agreement between Turkey and the United States on the safe area, it is still unclear on the subject and it has not known yet the forces and political parties that will participate in that area. The Kurdish National Council is working hard to introduce its trained military forces in the Kurdistan region under the name of "Roj Peshmerga" to that region, and to exercise its political role in the new administration of that region.
