ARK News.. A shooting incident at Iran's Supreme Court in Tehran has resulted in the tragic deaths of two prominent judges.

According to Mizan Online, the news agency affiliated with Iran's judiciary, the victims, who were killed on Saturday, January 25, 2025, were Ali Razini, head of Branch 39, and Mohammad Maqisa, head of Branch 53.

The assailant, reportedly armed with a firearm, gained access to the court building through undisclosed means. After carrying out the attack, the perpetrator attempted to flee before taking their own life.

Judicial authorities confirmed that the attacker had no active cases in the court and had no connections to any of its visitors.

This incident comes amid ongoing investigations to uncover the identity of those behind the attack. There are indications that the operation targeted figures well-known for their involvement in combating crimes against national security, espionage, and terrorism.

Notably, Ali Razini had survived an assassination attempt in January 1999, when he was serving as the head of Tehran’s judiciary.

This event raises serious concerns over the security of judicial institutions and their role in Iran's political and legal processes.
