ARK News… The national and social figure, the activist Zakaria Mustafa “Abu Indira”, on Monday, departed in the city of Afrin in Syrian Kurdistan at the age of 86 years.

About the deceased’s life:
The fighter Zakaria Mustafa was born in the village of Maratte in Afrin in 1937.

He joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria in the early sixties and was a prominent member of the National Congress in 1970.

At the first conference of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria in 1972, he became a member of the Central Committee, and was part of the party leadership delegation that visited Immortal Mulla Mustafa Barzani after the conference ended.

After the arrest of the party's secretary and a number of its leaders in 1973, the late Zakaria Mustafa was pursued by the security services of the Syrian regime.

In 1991, he was re-elected as a member of the Central Committee of the Sixth Congress.

The fighter Mustafa Zakaria, one of the pillars of the struggle in Afrin, remained committed to the immortal Barzani approach until he passed away on December 4, 2023, and was buried in his hometown in the village of Maratte.
