A child from Syrian Kurdistan wins first place in an international mental arithmetic competition

ARK News… A Kurdish child from the town of Girke Lage in Syrian Kurdistan won first place in an international mental arithmetic competition.

Student Rustam Dalil Muhammad (11 years old) from the Future Institute of Languages and Sciences in the city of Rmelan won the gold medal, taking first place in the international SD MATH competition (SD Zero stage), which was held in the city of Sulaymaniyah in the Kurdistan Region.

The competition took place on November 25, 2023, and children from Syrian Kurdistan participated in it via the Internet, along with participants from the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, Syria, and Egypt.

SD Math software:
It is a program to develop children's thinking skills in mental arithmetic. Intended for the age group from 4 to 17 years.

It consists of several training levels and relies on the fingers of the hand to perform all simple and complex arithmetic operations. The child is able to find the result of a series of arithmetic operations of up to 8 digits, relying on the fingers of the hand (SD Math) and mentally through the advanced levels in the program.
