A state of panic in Afrin... Military tensions and the Turkish army deploys its tanks
ARK News... The people of the Afrin region in Syrian Kurdistan are living in a state of panic amid military tensions by armed factions in the Euphrates Shield region in the past three days.
Local sources reported to ARK on Sunday, September 24, 2023, that there has been ongoing tension in the region for three days and there are reports of preparations by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham to enter the villages of Afrin.
The sources added that the people of the villages of Deir Ballut, Aghjalye, Diwa, Jalama, Iska, Shadire, and Ghazawiya in the Afrin countryside are living in a state of panic due to military alert in anticipation of the attack by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham.
You added that the aforementioned villages witnessed the displacement of some people to other villages.
In this regard, the Turkish army deployed its tanks at the Kafr Jannah checkpoint and the Al-Ghazawiya and Deir Ballut crossings between Afrin and Idlib.
The Turkish army deployed its tanks in the Shera district as well.
Since the armed factions took control of Afrin and its countryside, the people have suffered from the spread of armed manifestations in the region, and the region witnesses from time-to-time violent clashes between the armed factions that claim the lives of civilians.
