ARK News... A student from Syrian Kurdistan ranked first in one of the engineering departments from the American University in Duhok Governorate, Kurdistan Region.

The student, Rose Omar Kafr, won first place in the Department of Communications and Electronics Engineering at the American University in Duhok.

Rose, in exclusive statements to ARK, said: "I extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to President Masoud Barzani for giving me the opportunity to study at the American University."

She added, "I faced great difficulties until I reached this stage. I thank my family and everyone who supported me in order to reach this distinction.

She explained, "I tried hard to achieve my dream and to be among the first, and implement the saying of Barzani the immortal that students are the spearhead in all revolutions."

She continued by saying, "I dedicate my excellence to the Kurdish people. I hope that we, the students, will be the basis for the establishment of a Kurdish state headed by President Masoud Barzani."

Rose is from the village of Gir Kendal in the countryside of Derik in Syrian Kurdistan.

Last Sunday, May 28, 2023, the American University in Duhok organized a graduation ceremony for the students, in the presence of President Masoud Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, and the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi.

The American University of Duhok was established in 2014, and it is a private, non-profit university, and it is one of the most important and most famous universities in the region.
