The Netherlands confirms that its forces will remain in Iraq to train the Peshmerga and the Iraqi army
ARK News… The Dutch Foreign Minister, Fopke Hoekstra, confirmed that his country's forces will remain in Iraq this year, and will continue to train the Peshmerga and Iraqi forces.
This came, in a special statement to Kurdistan 24, on Tuesday, during which Hoekstra revealed the content of the meeting that brought together the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region and the Prime Minister of the Netherlands at the Davos Forum.
"The two sides discussed several important issues in the fields of security, economy, and refugees," Hoekstra said during his speech.
The Prime Minister of the region, Masrour Barzani, met with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, as part of a series of meetings he held with heads and kings of state on the sidelines of his participation in the Davos Forum last week.
