Oct 03 2021

ARK News… Despite the violations taking place in the area, the campaign for the return of the displaced people of Afrin to their city continues, the last of which was the return of eleven Kurdish families, on Friday, October 1, 2021.

An informed source told ARK: The violations and clashes that have become almost daily are not an obstacle to the return of the Kurdish displaced people of the city of Afrin from the al-Shahba camps and neighborhoods of the city of Aleppo, as well as from Lebanon and Turkey, eleven families arrived in the area days ago.

ARK’s sources had confirmed: That more than twenty-five families arrived on Wednesday, September 29, at their homes, out of twenty-five families, ten families of the displaced people of al-Shahba camps went to Aleppo and then returned to the area, as well as five families of refugees from the region in Lebanon, and the others from Aleppo neighborhoods and other areas.

Since the start of the campaign to return the displaced and refugees of Afrin to their homes, hundreds of Kurdish families have returned from the al-Shahba camps and the neighborhoods of Aleppo such as Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya and other neighborhoods, as well as refugees from Turkey, Lebanon, and the Kurdistan Region.

Politicians and observers call for the necessity of the return of the displaced and refugees to their homes in order to prevent any demographic change in the Kurdish areas, especially in Afrin, “Serê kaniyê” and “Girê Spî”.
