A German scientist... Coronavirus is not transmitted through surfaces or by touch

ARK News… The German expert in virology, Hedrick Strick, denied the hypothesis that the Coronavirus could be transmitted through metal and wooden surfaces and questioned the studies that indicated the possibility of the virus spreading through metal or shaking hands and touching.

Strick, director of the Institute of Virology and HIV Research at the University of Bonn, pointed out that the virus does not spread easily, as many previous studies have indicated, and that his recent research has shown that the virus does not move across surfaces, nor is it transmitted by touch.

The results of the Strick study came after a group of German experts conducted a study, the first of its kind, according to their description, as they used the most affected area in the country as a realistic laboratory to find out how the virus spreads, and the possible mechanisms to contain it.

The virus had spread widely among residents of Hinesburg, a region located in North Rhine-Westphalia, on the borders of the Netherlands, and today it is called "German Wuhan", as it is estimated that the number of infected people exceeded 1,281 confirmed cases, while more than 550 recovered A person from illness.

And according to the British newspaper "Daily Mail", a medical team headed by Strick went to Heinsberg, the stronghold of the virus, to study the causes of its spread. The research that Strick conducted on the home of an infected family showed that the house did not contain any live virus on any roof, door handles, or animal fur.

Strick said in an interview on German TV that "there were no confirmed infections in the city while shopping or even when visiting hairdressers, which denies studies that dealt with the spread of the virus in public places for a period of time."

He added that the results of the study will be used to develop a blueprint for how Germany will deal with the virus over the next few years. He indicated that the results he reached with his team would help in providing recommendations to politicians on how to make appropriate decisions.

"It is a great opportunity for all of Germany to escape from the virus, as we will collect information and practical advice on how to deal with Covid-19, without us having to stop our lives forever," Strick said in a meeting of parliamentarians broadcast on German television. He stressed that the virus is only transmitted in one case, which is through a spray of coughing or sneezing.
