ARK News.. A Kurdish historian said that there is a Kurdish city that witnessed the largest massacre in the history of the Kurds, which is the city of Kinja, by the Safavid Sultan Shah Abbas.

The Kurdish historian Adham Sheikho said on his personal page yesterday, April 26, 2020, via a leaflet read by ARK Media Foundation that "the city of Kinja, which is one of the historic cities of the Kurds, was one of the most important cities of the Kurdish Shaddadiya state," and this city is affiliated with the great Kurdish poet Nizami Al-Kanjawi, where it is located in Azerbaijan which witnessed the story of the terrible massacre committed against the Kurds.

Sheikho added: "The great Armenian historian Arakel Davrizhetesi, who died in 1670 AD, may the mercy of God Almighty upon him, says that the Safavid Sultan - Shah Abbas - occupied the city of Kinja in Azerbaijan, which is the historic city of the Kurds, and that in 1606, all the Sunni Kurds in the city were killed by order of Shah Abbas."

Sheikho said, according to the aforementioned historical source: "Even the Kurdish children were all killed,"
