كايا كالاس: الاتحاد الأوروبي لم يلحظ خطوات كثيرة من القيادة الجديدة في دمشق
أجرى الاتحاد الأوروبي "نقاشا مكثفا" بشأن سوريا خلال اجتماعات وزراء الخارجية في لوكسمبورغ، ركز على مسألة الاستمرار في تخفيف العقوبات المفروضة على دمشق.
قالت كايا كالاس مسؤولة السياسة الخارجية في الاتحاد الأوروبي، اليوم الإثنين 14 نيسان 2025، في مؤتمر صحفي: "من الواضح أنه لكي تتم إعادة إعمار سوريا، يجب أن يكون هناك وصول إلى الخدمات، وأن الاتحاد الأوروبي لم يلحظ خطوات كثيرة من القيادة الجديدة في دمشق، ومستقبل سوريا لا يزال هشا، لكنه لا يزال يحمل بعض الأمل".
وأشارت كايا كالاس إلى أن الدول الأعضاء اتفقت على "تقييم العملية حتى الآن"، بعد أن أجرى الاتحاد الأوروبي بالفعل بعض خطوات تخفيف العقوبات، كما سيعمل على "اقتراح خطوات تالية، مع الأخذ في الاعتبار الشروط والخطوط الحمراء التي نريد الالتزام بها".
وأوضحت مسؤولة السياسة الخارجية في الاتحاد الأوروبي أن العمل سيجري خلال الفترة المقبلة على "الجوانب الفنية"، وأن الاتحاد "سيعود لمناقشة الموضوع إذا كنا مستعدين للمضي قدما".

أعلن رئيس الحكومة اللبنانية، خلال زيارته الرسمية إلى العاصمة السورية دمشق، عن بدء مرحلة جديدة في مسار العلاقات بين لبنان وسوريا، تقوم على قاعدة الاحترام المتبادل والسيادة الوطنية.
أفاد بيان صادر عن المكتب الإعلامي لرئيس الحكومة اللبنانية، نواف سلام بأنه تم التوصل إلى تفاهمات مع القيادة السورية، تشمل تشكيل لجنة وزارية مشتركة، ومراجعة الاتفاقيات الثنائية، وفتح مجالات التعاون في ملفات حساسة، مثل عودة اللاجئين، واستجرار الطاقة، وتفعيل خطوط الترانزيت والطيران المدني.
وأضاف المصدر، أن الزيارة تفتح صفحة جديدة في مسار العلاقات على قاعدة الاحترام المتبادل واستعادة الثقة، ويجب أن تبقى العلاقات بين البلدين قائمة على الحفاظ على السيادة، وعدم التدخل في الشؤون الداخلية.
وأوضح البيان أن الجانبين اتفقا على تشكيل لجنة وزارية مؤلفة من وزارات الخارجية والدفاع والداخلية والعدل، تتولى متابعة الملفات ذات الاهتمام المشترك، لا سيما الأمنية والإنسانية منها.
وحسب البيان، أن البحث شمل أيضاً الاتفاقيات الثنائية بين البلدين، بما فيها المجلس الأعلى اللبناني السوري، موضحاً أن "بعض هذه الاتفاقيات باتت بحاجة إلى إعادة نظر بما يتناسب مع المتغيرات الحاصلة".
وفق البيان، تطرقت المباحثات، إلى ملفات التعاون في مجالات الترانزيت والتجارة، واستجرار النفط والغاز، وتفعيل خطوط الطيران المدني بين البلدين.
وبخصوص ملف اللاجئين، تم التداول في سبل تسهيل العودة الآمنة والكريمة للاجئين السوريين إلى أراضيهم ومنازلهم، بالتعاون مع الأمم المتحدة والدول الشقيقة والصديقة، وأن هذا الملف يشكل أولوية وطنية للبنان، ويحتاج إلى معالجة جدية من جميع الأطراف المعنية.

تركيا تؤكد على مواصلة دعم بناء القدرات الأمنية والدفاعية لسوريا
أكد وزير الدفاع التركي أن ترسيخ الاستقرار في سوريا والحفاظ على وحدة أراضيها، مهم لمستقبل المنطقة.
وفق وكالة أنباء الأناضول التركية قال ياشار غولر وزير الدفاع التركي في كلمة اليوم الإثنين 14 نيسان 2025، خلال ترؤسه اجتماعاً عبر تقنية "الفيديو كونفرانس" مع قادة الوحدات العسكرية داخل تركيا وخارجها: "إن لإرساء الاستقرار في سوريا والحفاظ على وحدة أراضيها أهمية حاسمة لمستقبل منطقتنا".
وأكد وزير الدفاع التركي على عزم القوات المسلحة التركية مواصلة دعم بناء القدرات الأمنية والدفاعية لسوريا.

استُقبل نيجيرفان بارزاني، رئيس إقليم كوردستان، بعد ظهر اليوم الاثنين، 14 نيسان 2025 بمراسم رسمية في قصر الإليزيه بباريس، من قبل إيمانويل ماكرون، رئيس جمهورية فرنسا.
ناقش الرئيسان، في اجتماع ثنائي، تعزيز علاقات فرنسا مع العراق وإقليم كوردستان وتوسيع التعاون المشترك، وجدد الرئيس نيجيرفان بارزاني الإعراب عن شكره وتقديره للدعم المستمر من جانب فرنسا والرئيس ماكرون للعراق وإقليم كوردستان.
وأكد الرئيسان على الرغبة الثنائية في تعزيز العلاقات والمضي بها نحو مزيد من التطور في المجالات كافة، واتفقا على أهمية حماية أمن واستقرار العراق وإبعاد البلد عن تعقيدات المنطقة.
وفي محور آخر من الاجتماع، تبادل الجانبان الآراء بشأن آخر التطورات في الشرق الأوسط، والوضع في سوريا، ومخاطر الإرهاب، واستمرار تهديدات داعش، وشدد الرئيسان على أهمية ضمان حقوق الكورد والمكونات في سوريا، وعلى الحوار والتفاهم من أجل التوصل إلى حلول سلمية لمشاكل المنطقة.
وشكلت مجموعة قضايا ومسائل تحظى بالاهتمام المشترك محوراً آخر للاجتماع.

On the anniversary of the Anfal campaign, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani affirmed on Monday, April 14, 2025, that all relevant institutions in the Kurdistan Region are committed to supporting the families of the victims and reconstructing areas affected by the Anfal operations.

Today, we commemorate the painful 37th anniversary of the shameful Anfal campaigns carried out by the former Iraqi regime in 1988, which claimed the lives of more than 182,000 children, women, and men from the people of Kurdistan. The Anfal is one of the most horrific genocides in history, and its painful impact remains deeply rooted in the conscience and memory of our people.
On this solemn occasion, we honor the martyrs of Anfal with deep reverence and gratitude, and we salute their steadfast families. We reiterate that the federal government of Iraq bears both legal and moral responsibility to compensate the families of the victims of Anfal in all aspects. Furthermore, the verdict of the Iraqi High Criminal Court—which classified Anfal as a crime of genocide and a crime against humanity—must be fully implemented.
All relevant institutions in the Kurdistan Region are actively working to support and care for the families of the martyrs, rebuild the areas devastated by the Anfal campaign, and locate and repatriate the remains of the victims. We will continue our efforts to achieve full international recognition of the Anfal campaign as an act of genocide.
The existence and achievements of the Kurdistan Region are the result of the sacrifices made by our martyrs. On this day of remembrance, we emphasize the importance of unity and solidarity in safeguarding our constitutional rights and building a better future marked by justice and peace for the people of Kurdistan.

International Coalition Deploys Advanced Military Equipment to Its Bases in Hasaka
ARK News.. The International Coalition continues to reinforce its military presence in Syria, with a new convoy of dozens of trucks carrying advanced military equipment arriving at its bases in the country.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on Monday, April 14, 2025, the Coalition transported 20 trucks loaded with modern military equipment to its bases in Hasaka province, in the Kurdistan region of Syria.
The source added that prior to this, the Coalition had sent another convoy of 30 trucks carrying fuel tankers, sealed containers, and armored vehicles to its bases in eastern Euphrates.
Additionally, on Sunday, April 13, 2025, two aircraft belonging to the International Coalition landed at the Kharab al-Jeer base, south of Rmelan in Syrian Kurdistan. The planes were reportedly carrying military equipment and logistical supplies.

ARK News.. On the anniversary of the Anfal campaign, President Masoud Barzani on Monday, April 14, 2025, called on the Iraqi government to fulfill its duty to compensate for the Anfal genocide committed against the Kurdish people.

The Anfal campaign was one of the gravest atrocities committed against our people in the last century by the former Iraqi regime. This inhumane operation, carried out in multiple phases and across all areas of Kurdistan, led to the martyrdom and disappearance of over 180,000 innocent Kurdish citizens. In parallel, chemical weapons attacks, forced displacement, Arabization policies, economic destruction, and the annihilation of thousands of villages were among the other heinous crimes committed by the former Iraqi regime against our people.
While the criminals responsible have been consigned to the dustbin of history, the wounds and sorrows caused by the genocide and injustice remain deep and unhealed. It is imperative that the Iraqi state meets its responsibility to compensate for the Anfal genocide and all its consequences, and that all forms of chauvinistic ideologies, policies, and practices against the Kurdish people are permanently prevented.
On the 37th anniversary of this painful tragedy, the sincerest way to honor the victims of the Anfal campaign is for all of us to unite in serving and safeguarding our homeland and to work together to build a brighter future for our people.

Syrian Democratic Forces Demand Over $1 Million from Syriatel and MTN
ARK News.. For over a week, northeastern Syria has experienced a complete disruption of mobile services provided by the two Syrian telecommunications companies, Syriatel and MTN, following direct orders from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to halt all operations. The move comes after the companies allegedly refused to pay an annual levy of $1 million.
According to Syria TV, a technical employee at Syriatel—who spoke on condition of anonymity for security reasons—stated that SDF intelligence, acting on instructions from members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), demanded the shutdown of servers and cell towers last week. The companies were threatened with the arrest of administrative staff and the seizure of their offices in the cities of Hasaka and Qamishli if they failed to comply.
The source added that a meeting was held between SDF intelligence personnel and representatives from both companies, during which Syriatel and MTN were asked to pay more than $1 million, described as an annual financial tax imposed on companies operating in the region.
The administrations of both companies in Damascus reportedly refused to pay any such amount to the SDF, stressing that Syriatel and MTN operate under official licenses issued by the Syrian government and are not subject to any local authority in the area.
The technical source also revealed that the companies have previously faced sustained pressure from the SDF, including the cutting of fiber-optic cables and the vandalism and theft of equipment from broadcast towers—such as electronic devices and solar panels—directly affecting the quality of service.

On Sunday, April 13, 2025, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received a delegation from the United States Congress, which included Adam Smith, Michael Baumgartner, Sara Jacobs, Wesley Bell, and George Whiteside, along with their accompanying staff.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the overall situation in Iraq and the wider region and discussed ways to strengthen relations between the Kurdistan Region and the United States.
The visiting members of Congress provided an overview of the objectives of their visit, reaffirming the strategic importance of the Kurdistan Region both within Iraq and the broader region. They reiterated the United States’ commitment to supporting the Kurdistan Region.
Prime Minister Barzani thanked the United States for its unwavering support and assistance, and spoke about the reforms implemented by the Kurdistan Regional Government, particularly in the sectors of energy, electricity, and banking.
The talks also touched on the urgent need to form the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government as soon as possible.
