President Barzani: Bombing of Qaladze and the University of Sulaymaniyah Was a Heinous Crime That Will Never Be Forgotten
ARK News.. President Masoud Barzani issued a statement on his official X (formerly Twitter) account today, marking the 50th anniversary of the bombing of Qaladze and the University of Sulaymaniyah, a tragedy that remains deeply etched in the memory of the Kurdish people.
"In remembrance of the 50th anniversary of the bombing of Qaladze and the University of Sulaymaniyah," Barzani stated, "we honor and pay tribute to the souls of the martyrs and victims of this catastrophe."
President Barzani described the attack as a “tragic event that stands as further evidence of the brutality and indifference of the former Iraqi regime.”
He stressed that the bombing was a “blatant crime against civilians and will never be forgotten.”

The 127th Anniversary of the First Kurdish Newspaper “Kurdistan”
ARK News.. On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, marked the 127th anniversary of the publication of the first Kurdish newspaper, Kurdistan, launched by Prince Miqdad Medhat Badirakhan in Cairo, Egypt in 1898.
The release of this newspaper marked a significant turning point in the political, cultural, and social landscape of the Kurdish people.
The first issue was published in the Kurmanji dialect using Arabic script, and it was issued twice a month with four pages per edition. In total, 31 issues were published over four years, until 1902, though not on a regular schedule.
The first three editions were printed at the Dar al-Hilal Press in Egypt. The fourth and fifth issues were printed at the Kurdistan Press, which belonged to the renowned Kurdish intellectual Sheikh Farajallah Zaki al-Kurdi in Cairo.
Due to pressure from the Ottoman authorities to shut down the newspaper, subsequent issues were printed outside Egypt. The newspaper relocated to Geneva, Switzerland, where issues 6 through 19 were published.
After the Kurdistan Press returned to Cairo, issues 20 through 23 were published from there. Issue 24 was printed in London, UK.
Issues 25 to 29 were printed in Folkstone, and the final two issues, 30 and 31, were once again printed in Geneva.
In 2021, the Kurdistan Parliament officially designated April 22 of each year as Kurdish Journalism Day in honor of this historic milestone.

President Barzani: The Roots of Peaceful Coexistence in Kurdistan Run Deep Through the Ages

In the presence of President Masoud Barzani, high-level officials from Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, global leaders, parliamentarians, and representatives from the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, the National Day of Prayer was launched this morning in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, under the theme: "Towards Unity in Faith."
Here is the official statement delivered by President Barzani during the ceremony:
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I extend my warmest welcome to all of you, esteemed guests. Welcome to Kurdistan – the land of ethnic and religious coexistence.
Before I begin, I would like to express once again our deep solidarity with all peace-loving and humanitarian individuals around the world, following the passing of a great man and symbol of peace and humanity – His Holiness the Pope.
This marks the first such gathering in Kurdistan – a National Day of Prayer, aimed at introducing the world to the rich cultural fabric of Kurdistan. It is a culture deeply rooted in this land’s history – a culture of coexistence, acceptance of others, and freedom of thought, belief, and faith. It is a heritage we are proud of, and we reaffirm our commitment to continue along this path.
I hope this event contributes to strengthening and expanding the spirit of brotherhood and coexistence in Kurdistan.
Piety is a shared foundation that brings different religions closer. Truth is singular, though there are many paths to it. All divine religions that affirm the oneness of God are seeking that same truth, and each must be respected. The essence of religion lies in ethics.
Since the founding of the Barzani lineage, under the leadership of Sheikh Abdul Salam Barzani and Sheikh Ahmed Barzani, respect for other religions and mutual acceptance have been fundamental beliefs.
This principle is grounded in the words of God in the Holy Quran:
“O mankind, we have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Verily, the most honored of you in the sight of God is the most righteous of you.” (Quran 49:13)
This verse guides us to uphold the values of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect.
Throughout history, when Kurdistan came under attack, the oppressors did not distinguish between Muslims, Christians, and Yazidis. They burned villages, displaced communities, and committed atrocities against all. The war against ISIS was no different — they committed heinous crimes indiscriminately.
In contrast, the brave Peshmerga forces defended everyone with extraordinary sacrifice, ultimately defeating ISIS strongholds at a heavy cost of nearly 12,000 martyrs and wounded.
Let this occasion mark the beginning of more such gatherings, reminding us that we are all servants of God, and all brothers and sisters in humanity.
With mutual acceptance, love, and joy, we can all live together. But with coercion, neither the oppressor nor the oppressed will find peace. Every prophet has advised us to extend a hand of brotherhood and live together in harmony.
Finally, I pray that God grants guidance to all, brings peace to the region and the world, and strengthens the bonds of brotherhood. I hope you all enjoy your time in Kurdistan. We are honored by your presence and warmly welcome you again. My thanks to all those who organized this gathering.

KNC Extends Greetings to Journalists on Kurdish Press Day
ARK News.. The Kurdish National Council in Syria has extended warm congratulations to Kurdish journalists and media professionals on the occasion of Kurdish Press Day, commemorated annually on April 22.
In a brief statement issued by the KNC’s Central Media Office, the council expressed its appreciation and respect for the vital role played by Kurdish media in defending the Kurdish cause and conveying the struggles and truths of the Kurdish people—truths long targeted for erasure by hostile regimes.
The statement reads:
“On behalf of the Central Media Office of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all Kurdish journalists and media professionals on Kurdish Press Day. Syrian Democratic Forces Accused of Abducting Kurdish Minor Farida Khalil Mohammed
ARK News.. In what rights observers describe as a continuation of a troubling pattern of child recruitment, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have been accused of abducting 16-year-old Kurdish girl Farida Khalil Mohammed from the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo.
According to a source speaking to ARK News, members of the Revolutionary Youth Movement affiliated with the SDF, were responsible for the abduction, allegedly aiming to forcibly recruit her into a military training camp.
In a video appeal, Farida’s mother made an emotional plea to the PYD administration and international human rights organizations, urging immediate intervention to secure the safe return of her daughter.
The incident comes despite a formal action plan signed by SDF commander Mazloum Kobani with Virginia Gamba, the UN Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict, committing to end and prevent the recruitment and use of children under 18 in military operations.
Yet, rights monitors and local sources report that child recruitment practices continue in areas under SDF control, raising serious concerns about the implementation and enforcement of international agreements.

بحضور الرئيس مسعود بارزاني وكبار المسؤولين وقادةِ العراق وإقليم كوردستان والعالم، وبرلمانيي العالم وممثلي الحكومات في الولايات المتحدة وأوروبا والشرق الأوسط، انطلقت صباح اليوم الأربعاء 23 نيسان 2025، في أربيل عاصمة إقليم كوردستان، تحت شعار (نحو الوحدة في الإيمان)، مراسم يوم الصلاة الوطني.
فيما يلي نص كلمة الرئيس بارزاني في مراسم يوم الصلاة الوطني:
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
أرحّب ترحيباً حاراً بجميعكم، أيها الضيوف الكرام، فأهلاً بكم في كوردستان، موطن التعايش القومي والديني.
قبل أن أبدأ خطابي، أود أن أعبّر مرة أخرى عن تضامننا مع جميع محبي السلام والإنسانية في العالم، على إثر فقدان رجل عظيم محب للسلام والإنسانية، وهو قداسة البابا.
هذا أول لقاء من نوعه يُعقد في كوردستان، وهو يوم الصلاة الوطني والهدف منه هو تعريف العالم بهذه الثقافة الغنية التي تمتلكها كوردستان، وهي ثقافة تمتد جذورها عبر العصور في أرض كوردستان. إنها ثقافة التعايش المشترك، وقبول الآخر، وحرية الفكر والمعتقد والدين والمذهب، تلك الثقافة التي نعتز ونفتخر بها، ونؤكد أننا سنواصل السير على هذا الطريق.
أتمنى أن يساهم هذا اللقاء في تعميق وتوسيع هذه الأخوة والتعايش في كوردستان.
إن التقوى هي نقطة مشتركة لتقريب الديانات المختلفة من بعضها البعض. الحقيقة لا تنفصل، وهناك طرق عديدة للوصول إلى الحقيقة، وكل الأديان المقدسة التي تقبل حقيقة وحدانية الله تسعى إلى تلك الحقيقة ويجب احترام الجميع. جوهر الدين هو الأخلاق.
منذ بداية سلالة البارزاني بقيادة الشيخ عبد السلام البارزاني والشيخ أحمد البارزاني، كان احترام الأديان المختلفة والقبول المتبادل جزءًا أساسيًا من معتقداتنا.
وهذا مستند على كلام الله عزّ وجل في القرآن الكريم، بسم اللە الرحمن الرحيم (يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ مِنْ ذَكَرٍ وَأُنْثَى وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ شُعُوبًا وَقَبَائِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوا إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ) وهذه الآية من القرآن الكريم ترشدنا إلى كيفية الاستمرار على هذا الاعتقاد بالتعايش والسلام المتبادل.
على مر التاريخ، عندما تعرضت كوردستان للهجوم، لم يفرق الظالمون بين المسلمين والمسيحيين والإيزيديين. لقد أحرقوا كل القرى، وهجّروا الجميع، وذبحوا ودفنوا الجميع، وأخيراً الحرب ضد داعش التي لم تفرق بين مسلم ومسيحي وشيعي؛ لقد ارتكبوا جرائم خطيرة للغاية.
في المقابل دافعت قوات البيشمركة البطلة عن الجميع بتضحيات غير مسبوقة وهزمت معقل داعش ولكن بثمن باهظ جداً جداً بلغ نحو 12 ألف شهيد وجريح.
فلتكن هذه المناسبة، نقطة بداية لعقد مثل هذه اللقاءات في المستقبل، حتى نعلم جميعًا أننا جميعًا خدام لله، وأننا جميعًا إخوة وأخوات في الإنسانية.
مع القبول المتبادل، ومع الحب والسعادة، يمكننا جميعًا أن نعيش معًا، ولكن مع الإكراه، لا يمكن للظالم ولا للمظلوم أن يرتاحوا. جميع الأنبياء قدموا لنا النصح بمدّ يد الأخوة لبعضنا البعض والعيش معًا.
وأخيراً أسأل الله أن يهدي الجميع والسلام في المنطقة والعالم والأخوة وأتمنى لكم قضاء أوقات طيبة في كوردستان، ونحن فخورون بكم ونرحب بكم جميعاً مرة أخرى. ونود أن نشكر جميع الذين قاموا بتنظيم هذا البرنامج والاجتماع

قوات سوريا الديمقراطية تختطف القاصرة "فريدة خليل محمد"
استمرارا في سياسة ترهيب الأطفال وسلب طفولتهم والزج بهم في معسكرات التجنيد الإجباري في المناطق التي تسيطر عليها، اختطفت قوات سوريا الديمقراطية قاصرة من حي الشيخ مقصود بحلب.
قال مصدر خاص لموقع آرك نيوز، إن مسلحي حركة الشبيبة الثورية (جوانين شورشكر) التابعة لقوات سوريا الديمقراطية اختطفوا القاصرة الكوردية " فريدة خليل محمد" (16عاما) من حي الشيخ مقصود بحلب.
وناشدت والدة الطفلة المختطفة في تسجيل مصور كافة الجهات في إدارة PYD، وكذلك المنظمات الحقوقية للتدخل وإعادة ابنتها القاصرة إلى عائلتها.
رغم توقيع مظلوم كوباني قائد قوات سوريا الديمقراطية خطة عمل مع فرجينيا غامبا ممثلة الأمم المتحدة المعنية بالأطفال والنزاع المسلح، لإنهاء ومنع تجنيد الأطفال دون سن 18 واستخدامهم في الأعمال العسكرية، فإن زج القاصرين في المعارك وتجنيدهم ما يزال مستمراً.

السعودية تحذر الحجاج والمعتمرين من فرض غرامات مالية
حذرت السلطات السعودية، الحجاج والمعتمرين من فرض غرامات مالية على الوافدين المتأخرين عن المغادرة بعد انتهاء صلاحية تأشيرة الدخول.
أكدت وزارة الداخلية السعودية على تطبيق غرامة مالية تصل إلى 50 ألف ريال، والسجن لمدة تصل إلى ستة أشهر، إضافة إلى الترحيل، بحق الوافد الذي يتأخر عن المغادرة عقب انتهاء صلاحية تأشيرة الدخول الممنوحة له.
وشددت وزارة الداخلية السعودية على أهمية الالتزام بأنظمة وتعليمات الحج والعمرة المعتمدة في المملكة.
وكانت الداخلية السعودية قد أعادت، الجمعة الماضية، التذكير بالموعد النهائي المحدد لمغادرة جميع المعتمرين البلاد، والذي يصادف 29 نيسان الجاري، موضحة أنه سيتم وقف إصدار تصاريح العمرة حتى 10 حزيران المقبل، مع منع الدخول أو البقاء في مدينة مكة لحاملي التأشيرات بأنواعها كافة، باستثناء القادمين بتأشيرة حج.
وفي وقت سابق، كشفت الداخلية السعودية عن فرض غرامة مالية تصل إلى 100 ألف ريال بحق شركات ومؤسسات خدمات الحجاج والمعتمرين التي تتأخر في الإبلاغ عن أي حاج أو معتمر لم يغادر بعد انتهاء المدة المحددة لإقامته.
